What We've Ruled Out

Enzo and I have been talking about our wedding off and on for the past week.  We have not made any definite decisions about what we do want to do for our wedding.  However, we've come up with a few things that we know we don't want:

  • A Bridal Shower.  How many blenders does one couple need?  And between the two of us, we already have four.  But on a more serious note - the purpose of the bridal shower is to start the couple out with household items and lingerie.  We both have our own places, so we own more than enough household items.  And as far as lingerie, being 51, I'd rather pick out my own!
  • Bachelor/Bachelorette Nights.  We simply decided we've outgrown these.
  • Destination Wedding.  We are both in our 50's, so I'm not going to go into how old our parents are.  We also don't want to make anyone have to spend a ton of money, go far or take vacation time to attend our wedding.  Not that there is anything wrong with destination weddings - they can be very beautiful and exciting!  It is just not us.
  • A White Wedding Dress.  I have two kids.  'Nuf said!
  • A Tux With Tails.  Enzo said he had to wear tails at a friend's wedding one time and he didn't like the way he looked.  He prefers a tux with no tails.
  • A Big Wedding Party.  Although I must say - a big wedding party made up of only people over 50 would be unique!
